The Sport VL adventure
The Sport VL adventure began in 1996 when Mr. Gilles Bouchard acquired a business on Bagot Street in Ville de La Baie, La Baie snowmobile parts, a store dedicated exclusively to snowmobiles. In response to the ever-growing demand and to better serve snowmobile enthusiasts, Gilles Bouchard opened a second branch in Jonquière in 1999, under the name Jonquière Snowmobile Parts.
In 2000, the summer season arrived and a gap remained to be filled: motorcycles and the growing new trend, mountain biking. The latter stepped out of its typical work environment to become a true high-performance touring machine navigating marked trails.
Four years later, the birth of a 3rd branch in Saguenay was seen, that of Chicoutimi. This one managed to establish its place among the many businesses present in this district.
Following the expansion of the company, the name was standardized to become "Sport VL" in order to better represent its purpose, which is the sale of parts, accessories, and clothing for all recreational vehicles including marine products and remote-controlled vehicles.
In 2011, the opening of a 4th branch in Chicoutimi-nord was celebrated. This one was merged with the Chicoutimi store in November 2015.
In November 2015, the Chicoutimi branch was revamped to strengthen its position in this city. Indeed, the floor space was doubled, allowing us to offer a more comprehensive service with the aim of better meeting the needs of our customers.
