The Sport VL adventure
The Sport VL adventure began in 1996 when Mr. Gilles Bouchard acquired a business on Bagot Street in Ville de La Baie, La Baie Pièces Motoneiges, a store dedicated solely to snowmobiles. Faced with ever-growing demand and in order to more effectively serve snowmobile enthusiasts, Gilles Bouchard opened a second branch in Jonquière in 1999, under the name Jonquière Pièces Motoneiges.
In 2000, the summer season arrived, and there was a gap to fill: motorcycles and the growing new trend, mountain bikes. The latter emerged from its typical work environment to become a true high-performance touring machine crisscrossing marked trails.
Four years later, a third branch was established in Saguenay, in Chicoutimi. This branch has since established itself among the many businesses present in this borough.
Following the expansion of the company, the name was standardized and became "Sport VL" in order to better represent its vocation, namely the sale of parts, accessories and clothing for all recreational vehicles including marine products and remote-controlled vehicles.
In 2011, the fourth branch opened in Chicoutimi-Nord. This branch merged with the Chicoutimi store in November 2015.
In November 2015, the Chicoutimi branch underwent a makeover to consolidate its position in the city. We doubled our floor space, allowing us to offer a more comprehensive service. This will allow us to include a remote-controlled vehicle department, with the same spirit as the Jonquière branch: always providing you with better service.
